A Word from El Presidente 2008
November 4, 2008...As
most of you know we cancelled the tournament at
Roosevelt! We only had 2 boats and at today's
prices it was not a good thing.
We are down to our last tournament of the year and it is at Bartlett the 22nd and 23rd of this month. Please contact me as soon as possible if you plan to fish it. Now the important part! It is November and we need to make allot of decisions about next year, if you guys even want a next year!!!! We have to have a meeting and we have to have more than just 2 or 3 people attend. I am willing to have a cook out of hamburgers, brats, and hotdogs at $5.00 a person if you guys will come and help plan next year. Maybe this coming Sunday afternoon? We have to decide if we are staying with FLW or switching to BASS. we have to come up with a schedule for next year!!! and we have to have officers!!!! Angelo says he will be President and Charlie says he will handle the money again. we still need a Vice President, youth director and a conservation director and most important a Weigh master to do the weigh ins at the tournaments, So please let me know what you want to do. October 14,2008...Well we finally went back to San Carlos for an ABC tournament, but the fishing was not so terrific either. Congratulations to Angelo for a strong day 2 and the win with a total of 15.52 lbs. I was second after a good first day and choking on Sunday. I had a total of 14.09 lbs. with big fish of the tournament of 3.58. On the non-boater side Jeff Simpson was first with 7.78 lbs and he only fished Saturday, he got sick from the heat and went home. Second was Charlie Sandhofer with 5.58 lbs. so good job everyone. We only have two tournaments left for this year. The 25th and 26th of this month we will be going to Roosevelt. I already know that some of you can not make it. We will be launching out of Windy Hill again and this will be a paper tournament. There will not be a meeting but I will be sending out other e-mails....Reggie Cooper President, ABC September 19, 2008... Well everyone we had
another first for ABC! We had our last night tournament of the
year at windy as hell lake Unpleasant! There were only 3 limits of
5 fish caught and the one that came out on top a little over a
pound more than second place was Misty Sedillo! That’s right for
the first time in the 20 years that I have been fishing ABC a
woman won the tournament. This young Lady has fished about 4
tournaments with us so far and has finished in the top couple of
places in the non-boater division every time. So congratulations
Misty on a great job under tough fishing conditions! Oh yea and in
second place was her husband, Tony Sedillo. Charlie Sandhofer was
first in the non-boater division followed by Tom Hudson (did you
guys notice I did not refer to Tom as Fat Boy this time). Joel
Illig caught big Fish at 2.43 lbs. August 4, 2008...
Well everyone it was back to
Bartlett for another beautiful night of fishing. Jeff Dunning
came out on top with a five fish limit weighing 9.21 lbs.
Second place was taken by Joel Illig with 8.84 lbs, Joel is
now a boater. In the non-boater rankings Charlie Sandhofer was
number one with 7.30 lbs and second was Misty Sedillo with
6.47 lbs. Big fish of the tournament was 2.99 lbs caught by
Joel Illig. Congratulations to all.
At our last meeting we decided that we would no longer have any meetings before each tournament! Over the last 4 months there hasn't been over 5 members show for a meeting and that is counting myself. So for the remainder of this year this is how it is going to work. I will send out a email about 9 days before the tournament it is up to you to reply to that e-mail or call me and let me know if you are fishing. On Wednesday and Thursday I will make a few phone calls to see if you can fish if I haven't heard from you by then. I will do the draw at about 8:00 Thursday night and send out emails to everyone that is fishing. We will all have to be at the lake a little bit earlier than before so Charlie and I can get all the money collected and in order...Reggie Cooper President ABC June 13, 2008...
Ok guys and girl, the first half ended
at Roosevelt, which was a good tournament. Congratulations to Angelo
Messina for his victory!! Angelo had a total weight of 17.63 which
gave him first place boater for the first half. Angelo beat me by
0.75 lbs which gave me my second, second place finish by less than a
pound this year. It also gave me second place boater for the first
half by just one point. First place non-boater went to Tony Lerma
with 15.75 lbs and second place non-boater for the second tournament
in a row goes to Misty Sedillo with 14.57 lbs. Big fish went to
Charlie Sandhofer with a 2.80 lb largemouth! Good Job everyone.
Now we have a break
in our club tournaments and its time to put on our Open Team
Tournament!! This tournament is Saturday Night, June 28th at
Bartlett lake. We need everyone to get out a promote this so we can
give Make-A-Wish 1,000.00 dollars again this year!! I will need help
running the tournament because Charlie will be out of town. We need
everyone to get out and get donations for the Raffle. If you are
going to fish get your entry to me before the day of the tournament
so you can save 10.00. hope to see you all there...Reggie

April 29th, 2008...
Well everyone we
went to Alamo two of the best months of the year for fishing there!!
I will start with March. At the beginning of the year Mike Turner
told me his goal for this year was to beat me at Alamo!! Well Mike
did just that and won the tournament. I went as a non-boater and
fished with Mike on Sunday. I tried to catch up but fell short by
0.78 of a pound so I took second place overall and first place
non-boater. Joel Illig took second place non-boater and big fish
honors with a 4.01 largemouth.
Then came
April and the fishing got even better!! Tony Lerma, one of our
newest members and a non-boater kicked our butts!! Tony had a two
day total of 23.69 lbs. for the win and first place non-boater. He
also had big fish of the tournament, a nice 4.44 pounder. Great job
Tony (you boaters are slipping). Second place overall went to Tom Norris
with a total of 22.82 which included a 3.81 pounder that he caught
about 10 minutes before the weigh in on Sunday afternoon. So
it does pay to never quite and fish up to the last minute. Second
place non-boater went to Misty (Traci) Sedillo our newest
member with a total of 16.32 lbs. Good job everyone.
Now
its time to go to Roosevelt!! Most of us have never fished this lake
with this much water in it!! It should be great!! We are launching
out of the east side of Windy Hill. I need to know again if
you are fishing, because this will be a paper tournament just like
Alamo and everyone has to be paired. So please let me know as
soon as possible if you are going to fish!!!!! I will make
reservations for rooms. Meeting will be Wednesday May 14th at
Sunland Marine 7:00 pm hope to see you there.
March 11th, 2008....
e are done with Lake Unpleasant for a while! Lets
hope the fishing improves before we have to go there next time. Tthe
fishing was real tough at Lake Pleasant and only four people weighed
in fish over the two days. Only one of those four weighed fish both
days and came up with his first ABC win! Congratulations to Tom
(fat boy) Hudson for his first ABC win in a very tough situation. Tom
was in second place after Saturday, he was about .75 lbs behind me and
on Sunday Tom worked hard and came in with a fish that gave him the
win. I was second followed by Angelo Messina and then Jeff Dunning. I
heard Angelo bragging how he kicked Jeff's butt for third place. You
had to be there to understand the just of the bragging or look at the
results. Lets
everyone welcome our three new members Tony Lerma, Lemont Fletcher and
Mark Valdez. Welcome aboard guys. I have a few more people wanting to
join but they are all non-boaters and I can not take their money to
join if we do not have boats to put them in. So everyone please talk
to your friends with boats and get their butts out there so we can
have some nice tournaments again. Feb 8th, 2008.......OK, everyone its been a while since I did one of these so this one might be a little long winded! We made it through 2007 winding it up with the banquet at Dillion's and the top 10 awards. I hope everyone enjoyed their meal and evening. As I said before we gave Make-A-Wish $1,000.00 and I am proud of each and everyone of you for this accomplishment we are a small group and to be able to make this contribution is just great.
It's 2008 and we started with one of the toughest 2
days of fishing that most of us have had in a long time. Congratulations
to Tony Sedillo for catching fish both days and ending up with 5.51
pounds for the win. Second place overall and first place non-boater
went to Mike Martin with 3.63 pounds all caught off the back of my
boat Sunday. Third overall was Angelo Messina with 3.35 pounds.
Rounding out the Non-boaters were Joel Illig and Tom Hudson. We had
our first major injury when Charlie Sandhofer tried to catch one on
Mike Martins compartment lids from his boat with his face ( not
a good thing to try Charlie) but Charlie is ok.
This years officers are Reggie Cooper, President,
Angelo Messina Vice President, Charlie Sandhofer
Secretary/Treasurer, Rich Moline Youth director and Conservation
director, and Mike Turner and Joel Illig are doing the weigh ins
again.
We now have all of our tournaments lined up. They
opened Bartlett and I had to reapply for our permits and we got all
dates except our open in June and we had to move it back one weekend
so we will not have the full moon. Attached to this news letter is a
copy of the schedule.
On to this months tournament again it is going to be
at Pleasant and lets hope with the next couple of weeks warming up
that the fishing warms up with it. I need everyone that is going to
fish let me know because I have a couple of new guys that want to
fish and we will need all the boats we can get!! If you know
anyone that has a boat and has been thanking about joining get on
their butts and get them out there. Our meeting will be next
Wednesday Feb. 13th at Sunland Marine at 7:00 pm. Hope to see you
there. Reggie Cooper President,
